Things I Miss About a British Christmas

My first Christmas in Australia was so odd. I couldn’t get my head around seeing Santa at our local shopping store in 35-degree heat, he really needed a different outfit. The music is playing as you walk through the store “Snow is falling… all around us…children playing, having fun…” No. If you can see snow it is because you have just picked up a bag of ice from the local servo.

In Australia Christmas is all beach and BBQ. I love it, but it does feel different to the Christmas of my childhood; the cold, the anticipation, the lights, the Baileys.

In my ideal world, I would be able to teleport to the UK for Xmas day and then flip back to Australia to finish the summer holidays.

What would you add to these lists?

Wherever you are in the world, I wish you a wonderful holiday season.

Love,

Jen
