The Couple Bubble as the Secure Home Base
When we have an insecure attachment style, we have a rocky ‘secure home base’. When we were growing up, the person who was supposed to be there for us, to support us when we were upset or hurt, was not consistent or not there for us in the way we needed them to be. When that secure base is absent, we either stay close to the caregiver to get our needs met (Anxious) or rely on ourselves and become avoidant. One of the ways to move into secure attachment is through experiencing a relationship with secure attachment as an adult. This means having a couple bubble.
